My name is Charles S. Johnson, aka CJ, candidate for CU Regent at-Large! Hailing from Detroit, my educational journey led me to the University of Colorado Boulder, where, amongst other things, I was honored to play quarterback on the 1990 National Championship team. With a commitment to CU that spans 35 years from student government to athletic director to my current role as a member of the Board of Trustees, my drive to provide greater access and opportunities for all students is well established. Currently as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Ball Corporation, I tirelessly advocate for equal opportunity and access for all. Please join me in my campaign to ensure that CU continues to be a beacon of educational, social and economic excellence for our great state of Colorado.

CU faces financial challenges due to decreasing state funding and rising costs. We must find innovative ways to manage finances to ensure the quality of education while also addressing rising tuition costs and financial aid availability.
There is an ongoing need to address issues of underrepresentation, promote inclusivity, and foster a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds.
We must prioritize mental health services, resources, and support systems to secure the well-being of its students and promote a healthy campus environment.
CU will need to continue its efforts in research, and education to mitigate environmental impact and promote sustainable practices among students, faculty, and staff.
